When school schedules are altered by closing early, starting late, or closing for the entire day, the following television and radio stations are notified:

WRNL:910 AM - WKHK: 95 FM
WPES: 1430 AM - WRVQ: 94.5 FM
WSOJ: 100.3 FM - WWBT (TV): Channel 12
WTVR (TV): Channel 6 - WRIC (TV) :Channel 8
WCVE (TV): Channel 23
In the case of a severe storm or power outage, local TV and radio stations will announce when the shelter is open and water available.
The Emergency Shelter will be at the New Kent High School Cafeteria.
Drinking Water will be available at Woodhaven Shores at entrance one on Rt. 640 just off of Route 60, and Colonial Downs Race Track on Route 155 south of Interstate 64
