December 22, 23, 26, 29, 30 and Jan 2 Christmas Break Camps 9 am to 4 pm at New Kent Gymnastics Center on Emmaus Church Road. This will be a full day of games, gymnastics, cheerleading, crafts, and fun! The cost is $40 per day or $200 for all 6 days. Please bring lunch, snack, and comfortable clothes for each child. June 15 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta On June 15, 1215 at Runnymede, King John acceded to the barons' and bishops' demands to limit his powers.  The Great Charter was sealed (not signed) and distributed throughout England beginning on June 19, 1215.

, July 13-17 Junior 4-H Camp at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. For any boy or girl between the ages of 9 to 13.

September 26, 27 Chickahominy Indian Tribe Fall Festival & Pow-Wow  At the Chickahominy Tribal Grounds, 8200 Lott Cary Road in Charles City County. Indian Dancers, Arts and Crafts, Indian Fry Bread, and more. 

October 17, 18  History Lands at Cumberland Plantation  10 am to 5 pm each day.  Sponsored by the New Kent Historical Society. The event will be held on the grounds of Cumberland Plantation, and include exhibits of the Civil War period, food and entertainment. Costumed interpreters will be on site to help visitors understand the role of all who lived in eastern Virginia at the time For more information contact Martha at museum@newkenthistoricalsoc.com.
