April 25 Remembering Patrick Henry's March 10 am to 4 pm at New Kent Courthouse. Revolutionary War re-enactors will camp at the Courthouse and provide military and camp life demonstrations. The event commemorates the 240th anniversary of the march in the spring of 1775, when local militia from Hanover and New Kent marched to Williamsburg after Colonial Governor Dunmore seized the gunpowder supply.  The New Kent Historical Society research center at the old jail will also be open from 10 am to 4 pm.  The event is free and open to the public.

October 17, 18  History Lands at Cumberland Plantation  10 am to 5 pm each day.  Sponsored by the New Kent Historical Society. The event will be held on the grounds of Cumberland Plantation, and include exhibits of the Civil War period, food and entertainment.
