What Will the Students and Staff Gain from this Experience?

Our world is changing. We have all heard this before. But take a minute and think about what that means to this generation. They have easy and frequent access to the internet. This has expanded their world well beyond our county lines. They have the opportunity to read about and see images of everyday life around the world as only modern technology can provide. But our partnership gives them so much more than simply reading about this world - it gives them an opportunity to actually meet it face to face. They will work with professional quality teachers from another country. Our partnership offers them the opportunity to be challenged by people who believe in their youth and abilities and who believe they can rise to that challenge. But there are practical skills to be learned as well.

Our students are treated as professionals and are expected to act as professionals. They will learn first-hand the universal skills of time management, prioritizing their tasks, organizing their learning time and much more. The faculty at New Kent High School will work with our actors to help them maintain the academics, while they work through this process. They will learn what it means to commit to something and follow it through.

Our staff also benefits from this partnership. We have the opportunity to talk with educators from another country. Our educational systems are very different and we find many things to compare. Yet, we find many things the same, such as the belief in our students. The exchange of professional ideas and concepts can only serve to improve everyone who actively participates.
