February 20 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course at the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad Building on Route 60 just east of Providence Forge. Sponsored by PFVRS.  The course covers everything from delivering a baby to handling major trauma to taking care of the common cold. March 11 Daylight Savings Time Begins Set your clocks forward one hour At 2 am on Sunday set your clocks forward to 3 am.  US Daylight Savings runs from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.

March 15 DMV at New Kent Courthouse  9 am to 4 pm. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles will bring their offices to the parking lot of the historic New Kent Courthouse for all DMV transactions including, Driver's licenses and ID cards, road and knowledge tests, and pictures taken.  Customers can order disabled parking placards or plates, get vehicle titles, license plates and decals.

December 6, 7, 8 "The Diviners" 7 pm at the New Kent High School Theater. a play by Jim Leonard, Jr..  A tragedy set in the great depression, performed by the New Kent High School Trojan Theatre students. Tickets range from $3 to $7 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
