February 11 Book Talk and Artwork Display  11 am at the at the Heritage Public Library, 6215D Chesapeake Circle off of Rt. 155 near Dairy Queen. Local Author Douglas McMurry will discuss his book The Forgotten Awakening aboput how the second great awakening spread west of the Rockies. February 16 Bland Music Competition 7:30 at Providence Forge Presbyterian Church.  Sponsored by the New Kent Lions Club. February 20 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course at the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad Building on Route 60 just east of Providence Forge. Sponsored by PFVRS.  The course covers everything from delivering a baby to handling major trauma to taking care of the common cold. Call PFVRS at 966-2801 to register.  Applicants must have a current Professional CPR certification prior to the start of the class.

February 21 New Kent Chamber of Commerce Meeting 6:30 pm at the New Kent Visitors and Commerce Center on Rt. 106 at Interstate 64 Exit 211.  [Time and location may change]  Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
